We are horrified and angered by the murder of George Floyd and the ongoing violence against Black Americans. This violence is not new, but it is also not acceptable. The fact that it stems from a 400-year history of racism in the United States makes it only more unacceptable, not less.
We recognize that our clients and our staff include people of many different political viewpoints. We believe, however, that it is not political to say that no person deserves to be murdered on the street. Every human should have the fundamental right to live their lives without fear of violence, particularly violence from those whose job should be to serve and protect. The fact that Black Americans have cause to fear for their lives because of the color of their skin is abhorrent.
As white men and as the co-founders and co-owners of this company, we believe our role must be to listen to and support our staff, particularly those who are people of color. We’ve urged anyone struggling in this time to reach out for help and discussion.
We are committed, as always, to doing great work for our clients and being a great, and safe, place to work for our staff. To do that effectively, we understand that silence is not an option. We stand with and support Black Americans.
