  • Writer

    Principled Technologies (PT) is seeking a full-time writer. The ideal candidate is:

    • Passionate about telling stories. Our most important goal is to effectively and memorably communicate our clients’, and our own, marketing messages to multiple specific target audiences.
    • An exceptional communicator with flawless spelling and grammar skills.
    • Experienced and interested in technical writing and/or marketing writing, including technical and consumer-friendly whitepapers, infographics, videos, social media, press releases, blogs, e-learning courses, online content, and more.
    • Experienced in writing in multiple voices, such as for other companies’ brands, and for specific audiences, particularly those with a business focus.
    • Experienced in bringing dry topics to life.
    • A thoughtful editor and excellent proofreader, able to quickly and thoroughly review complex documents while keeping many criteria in mind.
    • A self-starter with the ability to work on their own and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Willing and able to work in both leadership and support roles, depending on the project.
    • Able to manage multiple responsibilities at once and meet multiple frequent deadlines.
    • Willing and able to provide and receive creative, constructive, and direct ongoing feedback throughout all stages of the writing process.
    • Willing to be flexible and adaptable in a changing, fluid, and very nonbureaucratic environment.
    • Willing to work full-time, typical office hours, sometimes putting in the additional hours necessary to do the work at hand.
    • Deeply interested in technology.
    • Not a fan of passive voice.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word.
    • Proficient in Adobe InCopy or able to learn to work in it quickly.
    • Bonus: Interest and/or experience in graphic design, video, audio engineering, and/or computer science.

This job requires strong communication and organization skills, as well as acute attention to detail. We all work together, so you have to be comfortable providing—and receiving—feedback and encouragement to and from other members of the team.   • Marketing and social media intern

    Principled Technologies is looking for a summer intern to join our marketing team in our Durham/RTP office. Among other responsibilities, this internship entails handling multiple social media accounts—including drafting and scheduling posts, monitoring mentions and user interactions, and reviewing and reporting data from multiple social media platforms.

    The person we’re seeking is:

    • A rising college junior or senior.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and meticulous.
    • An exceptional interpersonal communicator with excellent spelling and grammar skills.
    • Experienced in using many social media tools and platforms, including Hootsuite, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
    • Interested in marketing, including social media, online content, analytics, and more.
    • A self-starter with the ability to work both on their own and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Able to manage multiple responsibilities at once and meet multiple frequent deadlines.
    • Willing and able to provide and receive creative, constructive, and direct ongoing feedback.
    • Willing to be flexible and adaptable in a changing, fluid, and very nonbureaucratic environment.
    • Bonus: Interest and/or experience in branding, graphic design, writing, computer science, and/or instructional design.

    Our summer internships last up to 10 weeks, with interns working up to 40 hours per week, primarily during normal business hours. Start and end dates are flexible. We offer a hybrid work style, with some days in the office and others working from home. The exact mix will vary. Interns not eligible for company benefits. Pay is $20.00/hour.
