In this post-pandemic world, hybrid work models are a reality for many companies. The pros and cons of hybrid work vary according to the unique demands of individual businesses, but every organization that supports remote employees can benefit from gear that promotes increased productivity, seamless security, and higher levels of worker satisfaction. Our test data shows that upgrading to latest-gen platforms can make a big difference for the better in some areas.

In a recent study, we used eight industry-standard benchmarks to compare a Dell Latitude 7430 laptop and a Dell OptiPlex 7400 all-in-one (AIO) desktop to their two-year-old counterparts. Both devices delivered stronger performance than their predecessors on a host of productivity and content creation tasks—and they delivered comparable or better thermal management. We also used hands-on testing to show that upgrading the same devices from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro can improve performance and battery life, with no negative impact from built-in Microsoft Virtualization-Based Security features. These results show that Dell Latitude 7430 and OptiPlex 7400 AIO PCs equipped with Windows 11 Pro can handle the multi-faceted demands of remote work for a wide variety of employees, all without compromising corporate security and worker experience.
