Hybrid workspaces are becoming more and more normal for today’s working professionals. Laptops need to be powerful enough to run resource-intensive tasks, portable enough for the demands of business travel, and fast enough for remote users to collaborate quickly and effectively. Oftentimes, upgrading to the latest generation of technology provides those benefits and can be a difference maker for both the user and their overall organization.

To find out what advantages one might expect from such an upgrade, we put three HP EliteBooks to the test: two new HP EliteBook 840 G9 Notebook PCs powered by either U Series or P Series 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processors and Wi-Fi 6E capabilities against a previous-gen HP EliteBook 840 G8 powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and WiFi 6 capabilities. Overall, the two HP EliteBook 840 G9 Notebook PCs powered by different 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processors performed significantly better on performance benchmarks than the two-year-old HP EliteBook 840 G8.
