In our complex global economy, one of the few constants is change. For companies that want to thrive in rapidly evolving markets, innovation is the name of the game. When inspiration strikes—whether it’s reimagining existing practices, visualizing spectacular new content, or fleshing out the details of an industry-disrupting brainstorm—the time it takes to convert ideas into actions can make the difference between breaking new ground and losing momentum. For the innovators at the forefront of the future, powerful mobile workstations often provide the computing power necessary to bridge the gap between concept and reality. But critical workloads are becoming more CPU- and GPU-intensive, and data-heavy tasks are now commonplace. How can professionals be confident that their workstation can help them navigate tomorrow’s resource-intensive workflows with confidence?

We used a variety of industry-standard benchmarks and hand-timed content creation tests to compare the system performance of three different processor configurations of an HP ZBook Firefly 14 G10 mobile workstation, as well as a previous-gen ZBook Firefly 14 G9 device. In the first study, we compared a Firefly 14 G10 powered by a 13th generation Intel Core i7-1365U processor to a Firefly 14 G9 powered by a 12th generation Intel Core i7-1265U processor. In the second study, we compared a Firefly 14 G10 powered by a 13th generation Intel Core i7-1370P processor to a Firefly 14 G10 powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS processor.

In the first comparison, we found that the Firefly 14 G10 with the Core i7-1365U outperformed the G9 with the Core i7-1265U in demanding tasks such as creating realistic visual effects, drawing AI-driven conclusions from datasets, and completing video- and image-editing workflows. In the second comparison, we found that when we compared the G10 powered by the Core i7-1370P to the G10 powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS, the Intel-powered workstation received higher scores on productivity and content creation benchmarks and completed Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic tasks in less time than the AMD-powered workstation.

Our results show that an HP ZBook Firefly 14 G10 mobile workstation powered by a 13th generation Intel Core i7 U or P series processor can provide creatives and technical professionals with the strong performance today’s workloads demand.
