To explore the potential time-savings benefits that project managers, business analysts, software developers, and other power users and technical experts could reap from AI technologies, we tested a series of defined workflow scenarios with two AMD Ryzen processor-powered AI notebooks: an HP EliteBook X G1a 14 AI PC with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 375 processor and a Dell Pro 14 Plus with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 processor. On each system, we used first AI features and then a manual approach to complete a series of routine tasks such as summarizing email chains, building predefined applications, drafting and reviewing documents, handling project management duties, and more. We then compared what it took to complete the series of tasks with each approach.
Our tests indicated that using AI technologies reduced the time to complete some of these tasks by up to 93 percent compared to traditional manual approaches. When we extrapolated those time savings by estimating how often those tasks may occur each week, we found that utilizing AI technologies could save workers over two full workdays per week—potentially reducing burnout and freeing them up for higher-value activities.
