In this age of remote and hybrid workforces, many business leaders are making IT infrastructure investments with the needs of highly mobile employees in mind. Key teammates are often on the move, and critical workflows and client interactions won’t wait just because problems need to be solved in a coffee shop or on a train or plane. To get work done at the speed of the global economy, professionals need mobile-first computing hardware that performs at consistently high levels—with excellent battery life—while handling demanding tasks in on-the-go environments.

New Dell Latitude 7455 laptops, powered by 12-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite or 10-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processors, and Dell Latitude 5455 laptops, powered by 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processors, purport to offer a balance of strong performance and lengthy battery life that may be appealing to decision makers considering a mobile-first fleet refresh. To see whether these Snapdragon X processor-powered Latitudes could be a solid upgrade choice for mobile workers, we used a range of general productivity and battery life benchmarks to compare their performance to that of competitor systems from HP and Lenovo—both powered by Intel Lunar Lake processors.

We found that in most of the scenarios we tested—including real-world apps while unplugged, rendering, and Microsoft 365 productivity—the Snapdragon X processor-powered Latitudes delivered better benchmark results than the competitor systems we tested. In addition, they offered significantly longer battery life—with an advantage of nearly three additional hours in one test.

Our results indicate that for employees who require strong, reliable performance and extended battery life for flexible work environments, selecting a Snapdragon X processor-powered laptop like the Dell Latitude 7455 or Latitude 5455 systems we tested can get you a strong balance of both.
