The revolutionary capabilities of AI are opening unprecedented opportunities for organizations of all sizes to explore new business models and uncover potentially transformational value in existing data assets. From automation to new insights to improved user experiences, businesses have plenty of reasons to want to integrate AI and operations. Even so, the prospect of AI integration can be intimidating, and IT teams face significant practical challenges, including bridging skill gaps, understanding AI data preparation and management requirements, choosing appropriate models and implementations, and accurately anticipating AI-related infrastructure needs.

Companies such as Dell and HPE have designed AI-ready infrastructure and service portfolios to help customers plan for and negotiate the many complexities of AI deployment. These portfolios combine high-performance infrastructure solutions with strategic third-party partnerships and a wide-ranging menu of AI-tailored support and consultation services.

To compare these two AI portfolios, we researched publicly available information about both the Dell and HPE AI solutions and examined related MLPerf benchmark test results. We found that the Dell PowerEdge XE servers available within the Dell AI portfolio offer consistent, strong AI training and inference performance for workloads on several AI models. When we investigated additional AI-related software and service options, we found that Dell offers some services that HPE does not, such as data preparation, and includes Validated Designs for AI, which help take the guesswork out of designing and deploying AI-based solutions.

Leveraging the power of AI to optimize company operations and open new potential revenue streams can be a challenging task with serious business implications. With technology advancing at an unprecedented rate, working with a strong AI vendor is vital. Dell is ready to help businesses adopt AI with a portfolio that includes high-performance server and storage options, verified solutions, and expert services that help lead the process from design to production.
