Storage system comparison: IBM System Storage DS3524 Express and HP StorageWorks P2000 G3 We compared the performance of two storage systems on streaming media, Web file and video on demand servers, and mail and database server activity.

IBM System x server with MAX5: High virtualization density with confidence We tested the performance and reliability of a cluster of two IBM System x3690 X5 servers with high-end Intel Xeon processors and MAX5 memory expansion running large numbers of virtualized applications.

Migrating Oracle Database from Oracle Solaris 10 on the Sun Fire V440 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 on the IBM System x3650 M3 We did this migration from start to finish, and we show you how to do it, too.

RAID controller performance comparison: IBM solution vs. HP solution We compared the I/O performance of the IBM System x3650 M3 server with the IBM ServeRAID M5015 storage controller and FastPath enabled to that of the HP ProLiant DL380 G7 server with the HP Smart Array P410i RAID controller.

Storage management configuration options: Comparison of IBM solution and HP solution We compared the IBM ServeRAID-M5015 RAID controller with the HP Smart Array P410i RAID controller in several areas: initial RAID setup, making configuration changes, and drive management features.

vConsolidate performance and power on IBM and HP quad-core multiprocessor Intel processor-based servers (full report and one-page summary) We measured power and performance with Intel’s vConsolidate OEM version 1 workload using VMware ESX Server 3.5 on three servers: the four-way HP ProLiant DL580 G5, the four-way IBM System x3850 M2, and the eight-way IBM System x3950 M2.
